Spring Patio Décor Ideas
Spring is finally here! The garden centers and markets are stocked with beautiful colorful flowers, and the time has come to get your back yard hot tub area and patio ready for summer entertaining! But, starting from scratch or with a blank slate and trying to turn it into an amazing space can sometimes be difficult. We have teamed up with design experts to show you how you can get your hot tub and patio area looking fabulous for under $300.
With all of the patio furniture safely put away for the winter, we started with a space that was lacking color and the relaxing feeling a patio should have.
Where to Start
Whether your hot tub is outdoors or in an indoor room, flowers are a perfect starting point for sprucing up the space. Selecting textured flower pots are a great way to achieve visual appeal.
Since we were working with neutral patio furniture, we selected some great textured pots and combined it with bright colored flowers.
Potting Plants Right
Drainage is a very important part to potting plants. Without having good drainage, the roots rot and the plant will die. We recommend putting a few handfuls of rocks at the bottom of your pot before adding the dirt, this will help any excess water to escape and keep your plants healthy and happy.
Whether you are planting in a pot or straight into the ground, remember to break up the roots a little bit before placing the plant into the soil. This helps the plant to establish a strong root system in its new foundation. To achieve the best look, choose taller varieties for the middle and place shorter or trailing plants around the edges of the pot.
Decorating on a Dime
Thrift Stores and Flea Markets are a wonderful source for inexpensive rustic or vintage patio decorations. If you’re on a budget this is the best and most fun option.
Outdoor Lighting
Your patio looks beautiful during the day but what happens when the sun goes down and it gets dark? It’s just as important to give as much thought to your outdoor lighting as you do to the décor.
There are many lighting options to choose from, including some really extravagant lights. We chose some simple white outdoor lights because they look elegant, they are inexpensive and work really well with every style.
With the summer quickly approaching, an outdoor space can quickly become your family’s favorite spot to hang out!
Soaking in a hot tub in the evening can also help you sleep.
